My dear Knoll's and Bayer's… Dietch's, Skeel's and Parsons’... Stoldt's… Halter's… and Blubaugh's!
Forty years is high-time to be associated with such honorable and admirable folk. I know half of you as well as I would like, and I like half of you as well as you deserve.
I have been blessed with an abundance of luck in this world, and I have several things that I consider truly precious to me. On September the Seventh, in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty Four, all of those things were together in one room.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every one of you. This was truly a party for the ages. One more clambake to share with the entire family. One more time I got to watch the Knoll family sing along to Garth Brooks at a wedding. A first time for Cassandra and my own family and friends to mix, mingle and make connections.
Thank you for clapping along with us and our parents as we danced, I will cherish that memory forever. Thank you to all who at least tried the Negroni’s that the bartenders botched, everything else they made was on point (I saw you slinging back those Dirty Shirley’s, Rikki). And how about that dance floor? What a scene that was!
As some of you may have noticed, I’m having a harder time getting around lately. Time and years of physical labor have taken their toll on my knees and ankles. Thank goodness I’ve been able to keep all that weight off, otherwise there would have been no way my daughters and I could have kicked it like we did.
Through all the years and the journeys of my life, you folks are the ones who were there, and you are the ones who give joy and meaning to my life. Thank you. With all the intent and truth my heart can muster, thank you!
I was super excited, I wanted to cry before I even got into the car, I was happy for them. I didn't cry but my eyes watered. After that we ate food. I only ate corn because the food wasn't that good. But dancing with my dad and sister was fun, we took so many pictures and I got to sit by my dad sometimes. I also got to stand next to my dad and my sister. The whole thing was amazing. I'm so happy I got to be there.
*COMMUNITY NOTE*
(Persephone DID actually try ONE clam at her fathers request. Desserts were eaten as well, but the youngest Knoll claims that they are not "food.")
